Spider Cranes Arrived in Portugal
01-04-2021
Designed to operate anywhere, the popularity of spider mini cranes has been growing in the maritime-port environment. Almovi is now taking on the challenge of spreading this concept in the national market, making this equipment available not only for sale, but also for rental. In this article we present some of the main features of these innovative machines.
1. Ideal for small spaces
One of the main benefits of spider cranes is their size and compact design, which makes it possible to use them in the most confined spaces. Some models can go through standard or double doors up to 800 mm wide, allowing access to places impossible to reach with another type of crane.
2. Unmatched position control
Supported by four independent outriggers, spider cranes are especially suitable for tasks that require precision and total control of the movement and position of the boom. The proximity to the load location and the remote control option allow the operator to have excellent visibility conditions.
3. Suitable for various types of flooring
The small weight, size and locomotion by tracks of mini-cranes allow them to be placed on higher plants and other places with limits of pressure to the ground. With versatile stabilization configurations, they can also work on uneven and inclined floors, while their mobility on tracks allows for off-road travel.
4. Small crane, big capacity
The size / capacity ratio of these devices is truly impressive. The larger model has a maximum capacity of 10 tonnes and in some cases can even be used as an alternative to self-erecting and mobile cranes.
5. Economical in operation and transportation
Most models of spider cranes can be powered electrically, constituting an economical and ecological option. On the other hand, the ultra-compact design of the equipment collected allows for a considerable reduction in transport and storage costs.
